Kathmandu: Former Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has said that Cristiano Ronaldo should be sold for the future of the club.
Rooney said that the club should allow Ronaldo to leave the club to build a better team. It was reported that Ronaldo wanted to leave United in July.
He wanted to leave the club because he would not be able to play in the Champions League while he was at United.
While playing for The Times, United’s legend Rooney said that they should think about the future and build a team and be ready for the Premier League title.
“In my opinion, United should let Ronaldo go. This does not mean that Ronaldo cannot play in Eric Ten Haag’s (manu coach) team. He can play for any team.
Ronaldo always scores for you,” Rooney said, “but in my personal opinion, United cannot challenge for the title now. Therefore, the aim now is to make a team that can win the title in three to four years.
