Kathmandu: Sri Lanka have won their second ODI against Australia. Sri Lanka defeated Australia by 26 runs based on DL method in the second one-day international cricket match in Pallekele.

With this victory, Sri Lanka has drawn 1-1 in the five-match series. Chasing the target of 221 runs set by Sri Lanka, Australia were bowled out for 189 in 37 overs.

David Warner top-scored for Australia with 37, followed by Glenn Maxwell (30), Steven Smith (28), Tarvis Head (23), Marnus Labuschenj (18), Alex Kerry (15) and skipper Aaron Finch (14).

Sri Lanka’s Chamitha Karunaratne took 3 wickets while Dushmantha Chamira, Dhananjay de Silva and Dunith Velage took 2/2 wickets each. Earlier, batting first, Sri Lanka lost 9 wickets in 47 overs and added 220 runs.

After the rain affected the game, based on the DL method, Australia scored 221 runs in 43 overs. Sri Lanka’s Kushal Mendis top-scored with 36 runs.

Similarly, captain Dasun Shanka and Dhananjay de Silva scored the same 34/34 while Dunith Velage added 20, Chamika Karunaratne and Dhanushka Gunathilka added 18/18.

Australia’s Pat Cummins took four wickets and Glenn Maxwell and Matthew took two wickets each while Mitchell Swipson took one wicket. Australia had beaten Sri Lanka by 2 wickets in the first ODI.
